Our afternoon adventure will be a safe, fun, physical and unique outdoor experience in the trees. FLGX will challenge us to push our limits and overcome our fears in a safe and supportive environment.

About the event

There are over a dozen different obstacles and zip lines, ranging from rope swings, scrambling walls,

hanging nets, wobbly bridges and suspended “surprises”.  After a brief 30-minute training session, we’ll

begin on the GREEN course where we get comfortable with the equipment and the rhythm of moving

through each element. BLUE is next and the elements will really start to test us!  It gradually gets more

challenging from there…  At any exit point along the courses, you can descend. Walking paths will take

you back to the guest services and welcome center.

Sat 7:30a Carpools depart from NC United Methodist.

  • Adventure activity at 11:30a will require 1 adult for every 3 youth.  
  • Adults could return from the adventure and not stay overnight.
  • Carpooling opportunities for return Sunday morning. 

Sat 9a-10am Camp Somers arrivals

  • Camp Somers Boy Scouts Camp Allamuchy**, 750 Waterloo Rd, Stanhope, NJ 07874, sites 7/8
  • Set up camp and or drop off gear. 

Sat ~10:30 depart for FLG X Adventure Course

  •  Late arrivals are welcome to meet the Troop at FLG X for our 11:00a start time. 

Sat 11:00a FLG X Adventure Course

  • • 59 Mt Arlington Rd, Ledgewood, NJ 07852.  (15 minute from camp, 1.5 hours from NC United Methodist)
  • • Required 1 adult participant to every 3 youth, we’ll need participating adult volunteers for this activity.
  • • Snacks and drinks 

Sat ~2-3p Return to Camp Somers

  • • Play games
  • • Work on advancement opportunities/requirements, choose a camp site and pitch a tent, cook, learn knots, etc.
  • • enjoy the outdoors 

Sat ~5pm Patrols dinners

Sept 12, 

Sun by 10am – Patrol breakfast and depart for home.  

  • Carpooling available. 

*Waiver forms will be required for all participants (FORM)  

  • Ages 9-11 must reach 5’9″, can access the first THREE Courses and have a waiver completed by their parent or legal guardian and be accompanied by an adult in the ratio of 3 children to one adult.
  • Ages 12-15 must have a waiver completed by their parent or legal guardian and be accompanied by an adult in the ratio of 3 children to one adult.
  • Ages 16-17 must have a waiver completed by their parent or legal guardian but may participate without an adult upon the course with them.
